The Perfect Golf Gift Guide 2025: Top Ideas from Gaudet Luce Pro Shop
16/12/2025Why 2026 is the Year of Women’s Golf
As we shake off the tinsel and look toward the 2026 season here at Gaudet Luce, there is a distinct sense of excitement in the air, particularly for the women’s game!

Womens Golf in the UK
England Golf recently released stats to show that 151,000 more scores were submitted by females in 2025. And what an amazing number that is! This surge isn't just a number on a spreadsheet, it represents a fundamental shift in the game we love.
Here at Gaudet Luce, we’ve felt that energy firsthand with our ladies section comps, more women joining our Swing into Golf programme and Gaudet being host to multiple female events and societies. Lets aim to see more of this come 2026!
If you didn’t know, the UK golf industry is also buzzing about the upcoming 50th staging of the AIG Women's Open. Returning to the historic links of Royal Lytham & St Annes later this year, pt’s more than just a tournament, it’s a celebration of how far the women’s game has come. Seeing the global spotlight shine so brightly on women’s golf is the perfect motivation for you to get out there and get golfing.
While the frost and snowy weather might occasionally close the course, the start of the year is the best time to focus on the "Winter Reset." Our floodlit driving range is the perfect place to keep your swing in shape.
Here are some ideas for your range session this winter;
- Gapping Session: Don't guess your yardages this winter. Spend a session hitting 10 balls with every club to establish your current average distances. With the cold air and softer fairways, your numbers will shift significantly compared to the summer. Re-gapping your bag at the start of each season ensures you’re playing with facts, not feelings.
- Alignment Drills: Use two alignment sticks (or spare clubs) to create a track on the mat for you to line up with. This simple setup ensures your feet, hips, and shoulders are all parallel to your target line. In the winter, it’s easy for our setup to get "lazy" as we huddle against the wind, but practicing with a track prevents bad habits from creeping in.
- Distance Control "Ladders": Now is the perfect time to master your "feel" rather than your "power." Pick three targets at different distances (e.g., 50, 70, and 100 yards). Try to hit the 50-yarder, then the 70, then the 100, and then work your way back down. This "ladder" drill builds incredible touch for those tricky par-3s and approach shots.

Looking Ahead at Gaudet Luce
At Gaudet Luce, we are committed to being a home for everyone. This year, we’re inspired by the growth of women's golf across the country, and we’re carrying that energy into our own club culture, from our inclusive coaching programs to our social events.
So, don't let the January chill keep you indoors. Whether you’re inspired by the pros or you’re just looking to beat your personal best this summer, 2026 starts right here on the range.
See you at the 19th for a warming coffee after your session!
